College Station, TX — A 19-year-old Tyler man faces multiple charges after police said a gunshot was fired inside a College Station nightclub Saturday night.
According to the College Station Police Department, officers were near a nightclub in the 100 block of College Main Street when they heard a gunshot coming from inside.
Officers pushed through the crowd, entered the club and located 19-year-old Trey Wheeler of Tyler. Police said Wheeler was immediately detained and a firearm was recovered from his waistband.
Investigators later determined Wheeler allegedly had a second firearm inside the club that had been misplaced before the gunshot was fired. Police seized both firearms as evidence.
Wheeler was arrested on charges of:
• Public Intoxication
• Unlawfully Carrying a Weapon — two counts
• Unlawfully Carrying a Weapon in a Prohibited Place — two counts
• Deadly Conduct
• Disorderly Conduct
• Failure to Identify and Giving False Information
Wheeler was booked into the Brazos County Jail.
Police reported no injuries in connection with the incident and said the investigation remains ongoing.
The charges are allegations. Wheeler is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
