Lakehills, TX — Multiple animals were seized from the We Care Wildlife Sanctuary in Lakehills on Friday following the execution of search and seizure warrants, according to the Bandera County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities said the operation began around 7 a.m. Sept. 4, when the Sheriff’s Office assisted Bandera County Precinct 2 Constable Greg Spengler in executing the warrants at the sanctuary.
Representatives from the American Humane Society, San Antonio Zoo, veterinarians and livestock specialists were on scene to conduct medical assessments of the animals and evaluate their living conditions.
Following those assessments, multiple animals were seized and transported to appropriate locations for additional treatment and testing, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities did not specify how many animals were seized, what species were involved or what conditions prompted the warrants.
Constable Spengler is leading the ongoing investigation, with the Bandera County Sheriff’s Office assisting.
No arrests or charges were announced in the statement.
