Eustace, TX — Two women were arrested Thursday night after a Henderson County Sheriff’s Office traffic stop led to the discovery of suspected methamphetamine and marijuana, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Around 9:25 p.m. September 3, K-9 Deputy Jonathan Daille and Narcotics Investigators Jonathan Barrios and Jude Bonner attempted to stop a tan SUV for a traffic violation in the 9600 block of County Road 2813.
Authorities said the vehicle continued for a short distance before stopping. The driver was identified as Tina Evette Cooper and the front passenger as Tonya Sue King.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, investigators determined the two women had allegedly arranged to travel outside the county to purchase narcotics and bring them back.
Authorities said King admitted concealing three plastic bags on her person containing suspected methamphetamine and marijuana.
Cooper and King were arrested and transported to the Henderson County Jail. Both were booked on charges of:
• Manufacture or Delivery of a Controlled Substance
• Tampering with or Fabricating Physical Evidence
• Possession of Marijuana
The Sheriff’s Office said both were awaiting arraignment at the time of its release.
All charges are allegations. Cooper and King are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
