Caldwell County, TX — Two stolen vehicles were recovered on consecutive days in the Lytton Springs area after Flock Safety camera alerts assisted Caldwell County deputies in locating them.
According to the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office, the first alert came Sept. 1 after cameras detected a vehicle reported stolen out of Bastrop County traveling through the area.
Deputies located and recovered the vehicle. The driver, identified as Hugo Lopez, was detained during the investigation and subsequently arrested.
A second alert was received Sept. 2 for another vehicle in the Lytton Springs area that had been reported stolen through the Austin Police Department.
Deputies located the vehicle, confirmed it was the reported stolen vehicle and recovered it. The driver, identified as John Beech, was taken into custody without incident.
The Sheriff’s Office credited proactive patrol efforts and the camera technology with assisting deputies in locating the stolen property and identifying those involved.
The information released did not specify the charges filed against Lopez or Beech.
Any charges or allegations are not evidence of guilt. Both men are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
