Texas — Wildfire danger remains high across large portions of Texas after six new wildfires were reported Thursday, according to the Texas Division of Emergency Management.
TDEM said elevated wildfire danger continues across large portions of North, South, East and West Texas as state resources remain deployed to support wildfire response efforts.
Officials are urging Texans to take precautions and avoid activities that could accidentally spark new fires while dry and dangerous conditions persist.
WILDFIRE PREVENTION
• Avoid parking or driving over tall, dry grass.
• Properly secure trailer chains so they do not drag and create sparks.
• Use extra caution with outdoor equipment or other activities capable of producing sparks.
• Follow any local burn bans or fire restrictions in effect.
State and local resources remain positioned to respond as wildfire danger continues across Texas.
