San Antonio, TX — One man was killed and a homeowner was hospitalized following a shooting Thursday night, September 3, on San Antonio’s East Side, according to the San Antonio Police Department.
Officers responded shortly after 9 p.m. to the 1200 block of Hays Street, where they found a man suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
Police believe the incident began with a fight inside a home in the 1000 block of Lamar Street. During the confrontation, several shots were reportedly exchanged between the homeowner and at least two other people.
One man, whom police believe was one of the suspects, was shot and fled to a home on Hays Street, where he was pronounced dead.
The homeowner was also shot and transported to a hospital. His condition was not immediately released.
Police said a second suspect fled and remains at large. Investigators believe those involved knew one another.
The investigation remains ongoing.
