Newton County, TX — A woman wanted in Louisiana on multiple theft and forgery charges was arrested Thursday, September 3, after authorities located her at a residence along FM 2460, according to the Newton County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff Colton Havard was contacted by detectives with the Beauregard Parish Sheriff’s Office after they received information that fugitive Jasmine Carly Macfarlane was believed to be hiding at the residence.

Havard and Beauregard Parish detectives responded to the property, where the homeowner confirmed Macfarlane was inside. The sheriff entered the residence and took Macfarlane into custody without incident.

Macfarlane was wanted out of Beauregard Parish, Louisiana, on the following allegations:

• Theft Over $25,000
• Theft Over $5,000 and Under $25,000
• 11 Counts of Forgery

Macfarlane was transported to the Newton County Jail, where authorities said she will await extradition to Louisiana.

The charges are allegations. Macfarlane is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
