Harris County, TX — The Little York Fire Department has been selected as one of only 12 sites nationwide to host the Vision 20/20 Community Risk Intelligence course, presented in partnership with Esri.
Fire service professionals from across the region will travel to Little York for the advanced two-day course, which focuses on using data, mapping and analytics to identify community risks and develop evidence-based Community Risk Reduction programs.
Community Risk Reduction, or CRR, uses data to identify potential risks and combines prevention, education, partnerships and targeted programs to reduce those risks before emergencies occur.
Assistant Chief James Cone said the selection reflects the department’s growing focus on community outreach and risk reduction.
“Being selected as one of only 12 sites nationwide speaks to the work being done here and our commitment to finding innovative ways to better serve our community,” Cone said.
The department will host Vision 20/20, Esri and participating fire service professionals for the training.
