Nueces County, TX — Southbound Highway 77 is closed following a major crash involving an 18-wheeler and an unoccupied pickup truck near County Road 12, according to Nueces County Constable Precinct 3.
Authorities said the 18-wheeler was traveling southbound when it struck the pickup, which was parked on the shoulder of the roadway. No one was inside the pickup at the time of the collision.
The driver of the 18-wheeler sustained minor injuries.
Nueces County Constable Precinct 3, ESD 3, the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Nueces County Sheriff's Office responded. DPS is investigating the crash.
TRAFFIC ALERT
Southbound Highway 77 is currently closed, and traffic is being rerouted onto Business 77 through Driscoll.
Drivers are advised to use caution and seek an alternate route if possible.
