Midland, TX — Two men were killed Wednesday night, September 2, following a crash involving a motorcycle and a Ford F-250, according to the Midland Police Department.

Police responded around 11:38 p.m. to the intersection of Midkiff Road and Park Lane.

A preliminary investigation determined a Honda CBR motorcycle was traveling northbound on Midkiff Road behind the F-250 when the motorcycle collided with the rear of the pickup.

Police identified the motorcycle driver as Javier Mendoza, 39, and the passenger as Richard Harrell, 27.

Mendoza suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Harrell was transported to Midland Memorial Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

MPD said speed is believed to have been a factor in the crash. The investigation remains ongoing.
