Cleveland, TX — Two people were arrested on felony narcotics charges after a traffic stop led Liberty County Sheriff’s Office deputies to methamphetamine, marijuana and alprazolam, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
On August 25, deputies with the Criminal Interdiction Unit stopped a vehicle on Junction Avenue in Cleveland for an expired vehicle registration.
The Sheriff’s Office said deputies detected the odor of marijuana during the stop and conducted a probable-cause search. Authorities reported finding methamphetamine, marijuana and alprazolam.
A backseat passenger was also found to have an outstanding felony theft warrant from the Cleveland Police Department and was allegedly in possession of narcotics.
Authorities identified the two people arrested as:
• Savannah Alexis Knowles, 39, of Cleveland — Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Group 1, 4 grams or more but less than 200 grams; and Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Group 3, less than 28 grams.
• Brandon Oneal Green, 47, of Houston — Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Group 1, 4 grams or more but less than 200 grams; along with the outstanding felony warrant.
Both were booked into the Liberty County Jail.
The charges are allegations. Knowles and Green are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
