Trinity, TX — Drivers are being reminded to slow down, watch carefully for school buses and stop when required after a vehicle struck the rear of a school bus on East Pagoda Street yesterday afternoon.

According to the Trinity Police Department, the bus had stopped to unload when another vehicle struck it from behind during rainy conditions. No injuries were reported.

The crash slowed traffic for approximately 30 minutes.

SCHOOL BUS SAFETY REMINDER

Texas drivers must stop when approaching a school bus displaying flashing red lights or an extended stop sign. Drivers may not proceed until the bus resumes movement, the visual signal is no longer activated, or the driver is directed to proceed by law enforcement.

Slow down, stay alert and give school buses extra space — especially during rain or other conditions that reduce visibility and stopping distance.
