Cleburne, TX — A Cleburne police officer injured during an officer-involved shooting on August 24 has been released from the hospital and is continuing his recovery at home, according to an update from the Cleburne Police Department.

Police said the officer was released from the hospital the day after the shooting.

Cleburne Police Chief Rob Severance thanked community members for their thoughts, prayers and support for the officer and his family, as well as officers from Cleburne and surrounding agencies who responded to the incident.

The department said additional information about the officer's condition is being limited to respect his and his family's privacy during his recovery.

The Texas Rangers are conducting the investigation into the August 24 shooting.
