Comal County, TX — A 17-year-old boy was killed Thursday morning in a crash involving a motorcycle and two pickup trucks on State Highway 46 near Stoney Creek Drive, east of Bulverde, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
DPS responded around 9 a.m. on September 3.
According to the preliminary investigation, the teenager was traveling westbound on SH 46 on a red Kawasaki Ninja when DPS said he failed to control his speed and crashed into a Ford pickup and a Chevrolet Silverado.
The teenager was ejected from the motorcycle and landed in a nearby ditch. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
DPS has not publicly identified the teenager. However, a letter obtained by KSAT identified him as a student at Smithson Valley High School.
School officials offered condolences to his family and said counseling and student support services are available for students, faculty and staff affected by the loss.
