Houston, TX — The Houston Police Department’s Robbery Division is asking for the public’s help identifying a suspect accused of stealing merchandise from a business and threatening a security guard with a firearm.
According to HPD, the incident happened around 3:15 p.m. July 22 at a business in the 1100 block of Elgin Street.
Police said an employee saw the suspect concealing several items and attempting to leave without paying. A security guard confronted him near the exit.
Authorities said the suspect then claimed he had a gun, pushed the security guard out of the way and left the store with the unpaid merchandise.
The suspect fled in an unknown direction.
