Converse, TX — A 21-year-old fugitive wanted on multiple felony warrants was taken into custody Tuesday after a multi-agency tactical operation in Bexar County, according to the Converse Police Department.
The case began August 20 when Converse officers responded near FM 78 and Crestway Road to a report of a possible assault involving an elderly person.
Police said officers located and detained a man matching the suspect description at a nearby business, but the man escaped custody and fled.
Investigators later determined the suspect had allegedly provided a false identity and impersonated another person when he was detained.
Detectives identified him as Devontae Amillion Sweeney, 21, and discovered he was already wanted on three active felony warrants. Converse Police said detectives then obtained three additional warrants and continued searching for him.
On September 1, officers located Sweeney in the 6700 block of Haven Meadow with assistance from the Alamo Area Metro SWAT Team.
Police said repeated attempts to gain his voluntary compliance were unsuccessful. The tactical team entered the residence and found Sweeney hiding inside, where he was taken into custody without further incident.

• Possession of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Group 1/1-B, 4 Grams or More but Less Than 200 Grams
• Failure to Identify as a Fugitive with Intent to Give False Information
Sweeney was booked into the Bexar County Central Magistrate’s Office.
The warrants and charges are allegations. Sweeney is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
