Von Ormy, TX — The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a suspicious death after a woman was found Tuesday morning near Interstate 35 in the Von Ormy area.
According to Sheriff Javier Salazar, utility workers discovered the woman around 6 a.m. and contacted authorities after attempting to check on her.
The woman was found lying face down and did not have obvious signs of trauma, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators are considering several possibilities, including that the woman may have overdosed, been poisoned or died somewhere else before being left in the area. Salazar emphasized that it is still too early to determine what happened and that investigators do not yet have a definitive theory.
Authorities said they do not currently believe the woman was struck by a vehicle.

• About 5 feet tall
• Approximately 125–135 pounds
• Believed to be Hispanic
BCSO is reviewing missing-person cases in an effort to identify the woman.
Investigators are also canvassing the area and asking residents or businesses with information or surveillance video from Tuesday morning to contact law enforcement.
The medical examiner will determine the woman’s identity and cause and manner of death.
