Corpus Christi, TX — Three members of the Tango Corpitos gang have been sentenced to more than 52 years combined in federal prison following an investigation into drug distribution in the Coastal Bend, according to FBI Houston.
The FBI said the case involved kilograms of drugs smuggled from Mexico inside vehicles and cabinetry and distributed through an alleged criminal alliance involving Tango Corpitos and the Texas Mexican Mafia.
The defendants and sentences announced were:
• Cesar Daniel Acosta — More than 15 years in prison
• Adam Ray Ramirez — 12 years in prison
• Tommie Lee Gutierrez — 25 years in prison
FBI Corpus Christi, the Corpus Christi Police Department and the Texas Department of Public Safety were involved in the investigation.
The FBI indicated additional information related to the case is expected to be released.
