San Antonio, TX — A driver died early Tuesday after a fiery crash at an apartment complex on the city’s North Side, according to the San Antonio Police Department.
Police and fire crews responded shortly after 2 a.m. September 1 to the 800 block of West Bitters Road.
Investigators said a white SUV was traveling at a high rate of speed when it struck a curb, went airborne, crashed through a fence and knocked down multiple parking structures.
The SUV then rolled over and caught fire.
Police said the driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
Multiple parked vehicles were also damaged, but no other injuries had been reported as of the initial update.
The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the driver’s identity and the official cause and manner of death.
