McAllen, TX — Federal and state authorities seized more than $700,000 in cash and more than 80 pounds of cocaine during an operation in McAllen, according to the DEA Houston Division.
The DEA said its McAllen office worked alongside the Texas Department of Public Safety’s South Texas Region in the seizure.
Authorities said the cash was discovered hidden inside a freezer, while more than 80 pounds of cocaine were found concealed underneath a bed.
The DEA did not provide additional information in its initial announcement regarding arrests, charges or the circumstances that led authorities to the location.
