Beaumont, TX — Beaumont Police are urging residents to avoid unnecessary travel as storm-related conditions continue to affect roadways across the city.
According to Sgt. Haley Morrow with the Beaumont Police Department, multiple trees are down and blocking roads, while widespread power outages have left several traffic signals inoperable.
Some underpasses are also experiencing flooding.
TRAVEL ADVISORY
Drivers who must be on the road are being asked to:
• Treat intersections with non-functioning traffic signals as four-way stops.
• Assume all downed power lines are live and dangerous, and stay clear.
• Never drive through flooded roadways or underpasses.
• Use extra caution after dark, when hazards may be harder to see.
Residents are also being asked to give first responders and city crews room to assess damage and clear roadways safely.
