Austin, TX — A 42-year-old woman was arrested following an Austin Police Department investigation into suspected mail theft, identity theft and fraud that led to the seizure of thousands of pieces of stolen mail and hundreds of suspected stolen bank cards.
According to APD, members of the North Metro Tactical Unit learned August 25 that a warrant had been issued for Elizabeth Rozo in connection with an investigation into Credit Card or Bank Card Abuse.
Officers located Rozo’s vehicle at an apartment complex near Tech Ridge Boulevard and later conducted a traffic stop.
Police said a search of the vehicle uncovered approximately 400 suspected stolen bank cards, nearly 300 gift cards, two counterfeit Arrow Keys and other evidence.
Investigators then obtained a search warrant for Rozo’s apartment, where additional evidence allegedly connected to mail theft, identity theft and fraud was recovered.

• 17 stolen postal keys
• Two ounces of suspected methamphetamine
• Approximately two dozen stolen or fraudulently created identification documents

• Thousands of pieces of stolen mail
Rozo was arrested and booked on the outstanding Credit Card or Bank Card Abuse warrant and additional charges of:
• Unlawful Conduct Involving a Mail Receptacle or Lock
• Manufacture or Delivery of a Controlled Substance — Methamphetamine
APD said additional charges are anticipated as investigators continue reviewing the evidence and determining the full scope of the alleged activity.
The charges are allegations. Rozo is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
