Austin, TX — A 21-year-old man has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder following a fatal shooting in North Austin, according to the Austin Police Department.
Officers responded around 5:34 p.m. Saturday, August 29, to the 11700 block of Timber Heights Drive after a caller reported a man with a firearm and someone being shot.
Police found Tyrell Pordia, 35, suffering from fatal gunshot injuries. He was pronounced dead at 5:53 p.m.
Witnesses reported seeing the suspected shooter flee the scene. Other responding officers located the suspect, identified as Joitorian Bouye, 21, and took him into custody without incident.
APD said homicide detectives interviewed Bouye after his arrest. According to police, Bouye admitted to shooting Pordia.
Bouye was subsequently charged with:

The case is being investigated as Austin’s 38th homicide of 2026.
