Austin, TX — A 7.6-mile pursuit through Austin ended with an arrest and the seizure of multiple drugs and a loaded handgun reported stolen, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

DPS said a trooper attempted a traffic stop around 3:34 a.m. August 28 after observing multiple traffic violations and indicators of possible impairment.

Authorities said the driver refused to stop, leading to a pursuit that reached speeds of approximately 110 mph.

The pursuit ended near Comsouth Drive and the SH-71 service road after a successful PIT maneuver. The driver was taken into custody with assistance from the Austin Police Department.

Investigators reported recovering:

• Loaded handgun reported stolen
• 344 grams of cocaine
• 1 pound of marijuana
• 16 grams of K2
• 58 THC vape cartridges containing approximately 116 grams of THC oil
• Drug-related paraphernalia

The driver was medically cleared and booked into the Travis County Jail on applicable charges.
