Montgomery County, TX — A 27-year-old Willis ISD employee has been arrested on a charge of Online Solicitation of a Minor following an investigation into an alleged inappropriate relationship with a 14-year-old former student, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

The Sheriff’s Office identified the suspect as Austin Gwaltney, 27.

Investigators with the Special Victims Unit said the case involved allegations that inappropriate photographs were exchanged between Gwaltney and the minor.

Detectives also confirmed that Gwaltney is employed by Willis ISD in the Information Technology Department.

Late Sunday evening, investigators executed an arrest warrant and a search warrant at Gwaltney’s residence.

Gwaltney was transported to the Montgomery County Jail, where authorities said he is being held on:

• Online Solicitation of a Minor

Bond: $125,000

The investigation remains ongoing and is being conducted jointly by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit and the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office.
