Del Rio, TX — Two juvenile suspects were arrested after three teenage boys were stabbed during an early-morning altercation in Del Rio, according to the Del Rio Police Department.

Officers responded around 3:21 a.m. August 29 to the 700 block of W. 2nd Street following a 911 call reporting a stabbing.

Police said three male victims, ages 17 to 18, were found with multiple stab wounds to various parts of their bodies, including the face and head. All three were transported to Val Verde Regional Medical Center for treatment.

A vehicle believed to have been used by the suspects was found abandoned at the scene, but the suspects were not initially located.

Detectives later interviewed the victims, who identified the suspects.

Investigators said that before the physical altercation, the suspects had allegedly been driving past the residence at a high rate of speed while yelling profanities. Police said the driver allegedly tried to strike one of the victims with the vehicle. During a second alleged attempt, the vehicle struck a fence and became disabled.

A physical fight then followed, during which knives were introduced, according to police.

A short time later, officers located a 16-year-old male suspect and a 16-year-old female near 12th Street and Avenue B. Both were taken into custody.

The 16-year-old male was charged with:

• Three counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon

The 16-year-old female was charged with:

• Failure to Report a Felony

Police later responded to Val Verde Regional Medical Center after another male juvenile arrived with lacerations to his hands. Investigators identified him as a second suspect in the case.

After receiving treatment, he was taken into custody and charged with:

• Three counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon

The investigation remains active, and police said additional charges may be considered as it progresses.

The charges are allegations and are subject to the juvenile justice process.
