San Antonio, TX — A former MacArthur High School teacher was arrested Sunday after being indicted on four child sexual abuse charges, according to Bexar County court records.
The defendant was identified as Paul Pearcy, 49.
Court records show a grand jury indicted Pearcy on Thursday on the following counts:
• Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child Younger Than 6
• Indecency With a Child by Sexual Contact, Child Younger Than 14
• Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child Younger Than 6
• Indecency With a Child by Sexual Contact, Child Younger Than 14
According to the indictment, the alleged offenses occurred on or around February 9, 2024.
North East Independent School District confirmed Pearcy previously taught at MacArthur High School and resigned in 2024.
A district spokesperson said there was no knowledge of any alleged wrongdoing at the time of his resignation.
Court records show Pearcy posted a $150,000 bond on the same day he was arrested and was released from the Bexar County Adult Detention Center.
All charges are allegations. Pearcy is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
