Titus County, TX — A traffic stop initiated after a driver allegedly failed to slow down or move over for a Texas DPS trooper led to the discovery of suspected ecstasy and a felony drug arrest, according to the Titus County Sheriff’s Office.
On Saturday, August 29, deputies Angie Davis and Luke Batts were patrolling Texas State Highway 11 when they observed a vehicle pass a DPS trooper conducting a traffic stop on the shoulder with emergency red and blue lights activated.
Authorities said the vehicle failed to slow down or move over as required by Texas law, prompting deputies to initiate a traffic stop.
During the stop, deputies reportedly detected the odor of marijuana and searched the vehicle. The Sheriff’s Office said approximately 8 grams of suspected ecstasy and marijuana-related paraphernalia were found.
Jessica Goodale, 27, was arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, a second-degree felony.
All charges are allegations. Goodale is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
