Monahans, TX — A 69-year-old Monahans man was taken into custody Monday after officers executed a narcotics search warrant at a residence, according to the Monahans Police Department.

On August 31, officers with the Monahans Police Department and Ward County Sheriff’s Office executed the warrant in the 1100 block of South Betty.

Police identified an occupant of the residence as David Michael Martinez, 69, of Monahans.

Martinez was charged with Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Group 1, 4 grams or more but less than 200 grams, a first-degree felony. Police said the offense involved a drug-free zone.

The investigation remains ongoing, and the department said no additional details will be released.

The case remains active under MPD Case #26-0423.

Martinez is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
