Harris County, TX — Two drivers were arrested after Harris County Precinct 5 constable deputies reported witnessing two BMW M-Series vehicles racing at speeds exceeding 100 mph on the Katy Freeway near Highway 6.

According to Constable Terry Allbritton’s Office, Toll Road deputies observed the vehicles traveling at a high rate of speed alongside each other. Deputies said the drivers slowed together before both vehicles rapidly accelerated in what authorities described as a competition.

The vehicles reached speeds of more than 100 mph within seconds, according to the constable’s office.

Deputies stopped both vehicles before any collisions were reported. Authorities said both drivers admitted to racing.

Both were arrested and charged with Racing on a Highway.

All charges are allegations. Both defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
