Washington County, TX — Meyersville Volunteer Fire Department crews responded to a grass fire in the 4600 block of Meyer Lane after a fallen tree brought down a power line and ignited the surrounding grass.
Firefighters were dispatched at approximately 6:54 p.m. and arrived to find the downed electrical line involved.
Because of the electrical hazard, crews remained at a safe distance until Bluebonnet Electric arrived and confirmed power to the line had been disabled.
Once the area was safe, firefighters extinguished the grass fire and checked the surrounding area for remaining hot spots.
Meyersville VFD credited Bluebonnet Electric for its quick response and assistance in making the scene safe for firefighters.
