Fort Hood, TX — Fort Hood is mourning the loss of Jean Shine, a longtime Central Texas community leader remembered for her service to soldiers, military families, veterans and the surrounding community.
Shine was named a Fort Hood Good Neighbor in 2001 and later served as a Civilian Aide to the Secretary of the Army, advocating for soldiers and their families and helping strengthen ties between Fort Hood and Central Texas.
Her service also included work with Wreaths for Vets and the Friends of the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery, where she helped support efforts honoring fallen service members and bringing the community together in remembrance.
Fort Hood leadership extended condolences to the Shine family and those who knew her, remembering her as a dedicated advocate whose legacy of service will continue in Central Texas.
