Manor, TX — Two adults were killed and a child was seriously injured Saturday afternoon in a collision involving an 18-wheeler and a sedan on U.S. 290, according to the Manor Police Department.
The crash was reported at approximately 2:58 p.m. August 29 on westbound U.S. 290 at Old Kimbro Road.
Police said an adult man and woman inside the sedan were pronounced dead at the scene. A pediatric male patient from the sedan was transported by STAR Flight to an area hospital with significant injuries.
The driver of the 18-wheeler was not injured and remained at the scene to cooperate with investigators.
According to the preliminary investigation, the 18-wheeler was traveling westbound on U.S. 290 when it ran a red light and struck the passenger side of the blue sedan. Police said the sedan had been traveling eastbound and was turning north onto Old Kimbro Road.
The identities of those involved have not been released.
Manor Police thanked Travis County ESD 12, Austin-Travis County EMS, Austin Fire Department, Travis County Sheriff’s Office and the Texas Department of Public Safety for assisting at the scene.
