Houston, TX — A man has been arrested after Harris County Precinct 6 deputies said they recognized him from a video showing an individual displaying a handgun in the Harrisburg area.

According to Constable Silvia Treviño’s office, Deputy Gilliam and Deputy Espinosa spotted a man riding a bicycle at approximately 4:10 p.m. Friday, August 29, who matched the person previously seen in the video.

Deputies identified the man as Jose Ramon Hernandez-Ramirez and detained him for further investigation. Authorities said deputies confirmed he was the same individual depicted possessing and displaying the handgun.

Deputies also reported finding two crack pipes in his possession.

Further investigation determined Hernandez-Ramirez was a convicted felon and was currently out on bond, according to the constable’s office.

The Harris County District Attorney’s Office subsequently accepted a charge of Felon in Possession of a Firearm. Hernandez-Ramirez was taken into custody and transported to the Harris County Jail.

All persons accused of a crime are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
