Tyler, TX — A Tyler woman was arrested after authorities said she attempted to stab her ex in the neck with a pencil during an altercation.
According to an arrest affidavit, Alexis Shelton went to her ex’s home on Aug. 26, where the two became involved in a fight.
Witnesses told investigators Shelton allegedly said, “I’m finna cut you now,” before attempting to stab the man in the neck with a pencil.
The responding officer reported seeing injuries on the man’s neck and located the pencils allegedly used during the incident.
Shelton was arrested and booked into the Smith County Jail.
She is charged with:
• Assault Causing Bodily Injury to a Family Member
• Aggravated Assault With a Deadly Weapon
According to Smith County judicial records, Shelton remained in jail as of Friday.
The charges are accusations. Shelton is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
