Sugar Land, TX — Sugar Land Fire and Police are responding to a collision involving a train and an 18-wheeler on Highway 90 at Easton Avenue.
Fire personnel assessed the occupants of both the train and truck, and no major injuries have been reported.
Fort Bend County HazMat is responding to assist with a diesel leak. Crews are also evaluating the train’s hazardous materials freight to confirm that no rail cars were compromised.
Sugar Land Police are investigating the cause of the collision.
TRAFFIC IMPACTS
Westbound lanes of Highway 90 may be affected for the next couple of hours, with traffic impacts potentially extending to Highway 6, University Boulevard and Main Street rail crossings.
All railroad crossings between Main Street and Easton Avenue are expected to remain closed for the next several hours.
Drivers are asked to avoid the area if possible and use an alternate route.
