Fort Worth, TX — A Tarrant County jury found 48-year-old Steven Black guilty of murder and sentenced him to life in prison in the death of 50-year-old Susan Watkins.
According to the Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office, Black threw Watkins to the ground in the 900 block of South Jennings Avenue on July 9, 2025.
Prosecutors said Black stomped on Watkins’ head and threw large rocks at her head before leaving her behind a dumpster. Watkins was transported to a hospital, where she later died.
The District Attorney’s Office credited the Fort Worth Police Department for its work on the case.
