Navarro County, TX — The NE 0190 Fire north of Roane is now 100% contained, and all responding units have cleared the scene, according to the Navarro County Office of Emergency Management.
The fire began near FM 1129 and NE County Road 0190 as a reported structure and vehicle fire before spreading into surrounding grass.
At the height of the response, 25 fire trucks were actively involved in suppression efforts.
Officials said the fire was contained at approximately 50.8 acres with help from numerous volunteer fire departments, Corsicana Fire Department Engine 4, Navarro County Precincts 1 and 2 with motor graders, the Navarro County Sheriff’s Office, Texas Division of Emergency Management, Texas Department of Public Safety, American Red Cross and a private citizen who assisted with a bulldozer.
One abandoned structure was destroyed, another structure was damaged and several vehicles burned.
One volunteer firefighter was transported to Navarro Regional Hospital for a heat-related illness and was reported to be doing better.
BURN BAN REMAINS IN EFFECT
Navarro County remains under a burn ban. Residents are urged to use extreme caution with any outdoor activity that could ignite a fire.
