Harris County, TX — A mother and daughter wanted in connection with multiple alleged thefts totaling more than $5,000 from an Academy store were arrested Thursday, according to Harris County Precinct 4 Constable Mark Herman’s Office.
On Aug. 27, deputies with the Precinct 4 Special Operations Unit executed warrants at two separate locations for Leah Morales and Madison Johnson. Authorities said the warrants stemmed from multiple thefts at the Academy store in the 28600 block of Northwest Freeway.
Morales was located in the 5900 block of Guhn Road and taken into custody without incident. Johnson was located at a residence in the 1400 block of Alliance Street and was also taken into custody.
Both women were booked into the Harris County Jail on theft warrants. According to the Constable’s Office, their bonds had not been set at the time of the announcement, with their cases assigned to the 176th and 338th District Courts.
Constable Mark Herman said his office will continue working to identify and arrest those responsible for organized retail theft.
All individuals are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
