Harris County, TX — A man was taken into custody after authorities said he resisted deputies and fled on foot while they attempted to detain him.
According to Harris County Constable Precinct 2, deputies were dispatched regarding a suspicious man who was reportedly known to frequently leave the location with unpaid merchandise.
When deputies arrived and attempted to make contact with and detain the man, authorities said he resisted, resulting in a physical struggle before he fled on foot.
Deputies pursued him for approximately one-quarter mile before catching up with him and taking him into custody.
The Harris County District Attorney’s Office accepted a charge of Evading on Foot. Authorities identified the man as Christopher Vera and said he was also booked into custody on an active warrant.
Vera is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
