Montgomery County, TX — A commercial vehicle driver was arrested after a traffic stop in the Riverwalk subdivision led to a third-offense DWI charge, according to the Montgomery County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office.
Authorities said a Precinct 4 deputy observed a large commercial motor vehicle disregard a stop sign while traveling through the subdivision.
The deputy initiated a traffic stop and conducted an investigation. According to the Constable’s Office, the driver was determined to be operating the vehicle while intoxicated.
The driver, whose name was not provided in the agency’s release, was taken into custody and booked into the Montgomery County Jail on a charge of Driving While Intoxicated — Third Offense.
Under Texas law, DWI with two prior DWI convictions is generally a third-degree felony.
The Constable’s Office reminded motorists of the dangers of impaired driving and urged drivers not to drink and drive.
All persons accused of a crime are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
