Fredericksburg, TX — Authorities are investigating after a 59-year-old East Texas woman was found dead Thursday afternoon on a trail at Enchanted Rock State Natural Area.
According to information provided by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, park staff were notified of a possible deceased person at approximately 3 p.m. on August 27.
The woman was located on a trail on the west side of the park. Her identity has not been released.
State Park Police, the Gillespie County Sheriff’s Office, Llano County Sheriff’s Office, Hamilton EMS, Llano County Emergency Management and Willow City Volunteer Fire Department responded.
The woman’s cause of death has not been determined, and the investigation remains ongoing.
Texas State Parks extended condolences to the woman’s family and friends.
