El Paso, TX — A 14-year-old boy has been charged with three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon following a stabbing near Americas High School that left three other juveniles hospitalized Friday morning, according to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office.
At approximately 8:31 a.m. on Aug. 28, authorities received a report of a person armed with a knife near the Americas High School baseball field. Socorro ISD Police officers arrived at approximately 8:35 a.m. and located three juveniles suffering from stab wounds.
The victims were identified as:
• 14-year-old girl
• 14-year-old boy
• 15-year-old boy
All three were reported in stable condition.
Authorities said the 14-year-old suspect was located in the 1400 block of Ben Procter and taken into custody.
The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit assumed the investigation with assistance from the Texas Rangers and Socorro ISD Police Department. The Sheriff’s Office said additional charges could be filed as the investigation continues.
Because the suspect and victims are juveniles, authorities are not releasing their names.
The investigation has also involved assistance from the El Paso Police Department, El Paso Fire Department and other responding personnel.
The charges are accusations. The juvenile is presumed innocent unless adjudicated delinquent through the judicial process.
