Vidor, TX — Edward Anthony Hoffman III of Vidor has been sentenced to 45 years in prison after pleading guilty to sexually assaulting a child and child pornography charges.
On August 24, 2026, in the 163rd District Court, he received 45 years on each aggravated sexual assault count and 25 years on each child pornography count. Because the victim was younger than 6, officials said he must serve the assault sentences day for day and is not eligible for parole on those counts.
The case started June 6, 2025, when Sgt. Jerry Serratt of Montgomery County Precinct 1, assigned to the county DA’s ICAC task force, was working an online investigation. Authorities said a suspect sent videos of a child and they believed a live victim might be involved.
Investigators identified Hoffman in Vidor. Orange police arrested him that afternoon on a promotion of child pornography warrant. Officials later said the child in the images was identified, additional charges were filed, and Hoffman confessed to sexually assaulting a child and recording and sharing the video.
