Beaumont, TX — An adult woman is in critical condition after being hit by a vehicle early Thursday on Washington Boulevard.
Officers were sent about 4:54 a.m. to Washington Boulevard and 8th Street. Dispatch was told a pedestrian had been struck. Officers and EMS found the victim and took her to a hospital.
The preliminary investigation indicates she was walking in the roadway when the vehicle hit her. The driver stayed at the scene, called 911, and cooperated.
Beaumont police Traffic and Crime Scene units investigated. Washington Boulevard was shut down between 6th and 8th streets and reopened about 7:23 a.m.
The investigation is ongoing.
