Fort Worth, TX — A Tarrant County jury has convicted Javaughn Greer, 20, of murder and sentenced him to 40 years in prison.

On March 21, 2025, Greer and another teen attacked Donald Snellings, 71, in the 900 block of East Broadway Avenue, the district attorney’s office said. They knocked him down, left, then came back and attacked him again, targeting his head and torso. Prosecutors said Greer stomped on his head and used Snellings’ cane to strike him.

Snellings was found unconscious with a broken jaw, broken ribs, and a brain bleed. He died April 11, 2025.

Fort Worth police investigated the case. Assistant District Attorneys DJ Estes and Michael Mooneyham prosecuted it.
