Brazoria County, TX — Drone operators in the Houston area should keep aircraft on the ground Thursday.

The FAA issued a temporary flight restriction for August 27, 2026, tied to President Donald Trump’s scheduled arrival in Houston. Brazoria County Precinct 1 Constable’s Office said the penalties for flying into that airspace are severe.

The restriction is listed as FDC NOTAM 6/7592 and runs into August 28. It is a VIP presidential TFR. Those typically cover about 30 nautical miles from the protected location, up to 18,000 feet, with an inner core of about 10 to 12 nautical miles where nearly all flights, including drones, are prohibited.

Operators should check the FAA TFR site for exact boundaries, altitudes, and times before flying.
