Boerne, TX — Sean Patrick Long, 27, of Boerne has been sentenced to 30 years in prison after a Kendall County jury convicted him of sexually assaulting a child.

On July 23, the jury found him guilty of two counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child and two counts of sexual assault of a child. Visiting Judge Sid Harle sentenced him Thursday in the 451st District Court.

The case began April 17, 2024, when Boerne police Detective James Estrada received a report that Long had sexually assaulted a young teenage girl. Prosecutors said the assaults happened from October 2023 to April 2024, beginning when she was 13.

Long fled to Mexico while on bond. Mexican officials captured him with FBI help and returned him to Kendall County.

Prosecutors asked for 50 years and presented additional victim testimony, prior convictions, and evidence of a jail assault. Criminal District Attorney Nicole Bishop thanked the jury for believing the victim.
