Socorro, TX — Wiwynn Technology Corporation plans to invest more than $275 million in a distribution and manufacturing campus at Socorro Logistics Centre Park and add 2,000 jobs, the city said.
The Taipei-based IT cloud manufacturer arrived in Socorro in 2025. The new site would include two industrial buildings totaling more than 866,000 square feet for cloud-based AI and edge computing servers and IT product distribution. Once complete, the company said it would have more than 1.6 million square feet and about 2,500 employees in Socorro.
On Thursday, the city approved a $1.8 million Chapter 380 agreement. The package includes:
• a personal property tax rebate over 10 years, up to $1,836,462.54
• a construction permit waiver worth up to $200,000
The incentive depends on at least $146.5 million in personal property and building improvements and 2,000 jobs within four years. Five percent of the new jobs are to go to Socorro residents. The projected average wage is $19 an hour plus benefits.
El Paso County and the Borderplex Alliance supported the project. “Socorro made a promise, and today Wiwynn is answering with one of the largest votes of confidence in our city’s history,” Mayor Rudy Cruz Jr. said.
