Fort Worth, TX — A Tarrant County jury has convicted Virginia Alcaraz, 33, of manufacture or delivery of 400 grams or more of a controlled substance and sentenced her to 16 years in prison.
On March 29, 2025, Alcaraz was at DFW Airport for a flight that would eventually take her to Sydney, Australia. U.S. Customs and Border Protection found several flat black plastic bundles containing about six pounds of cocaine in her black duffel bag, the district attorney’s office said.
The Tarrant County DA’s Narcotics Unit prosecuted the case. DFW Airport Department of Public Safety and CBP assisted.
